Last photo to end off the New Zealand series.
August 25-30, 2012. The best week of my life.
One day, I will have a house by the lake. My children will be enveloped in nature’s loving arms. And with my precious sweetheart, we will sit by the waters and just watch the world go by.

New Zealand’s most famous tourist destination. Once called the “Eighth Wonder of the World”.
It is not hard to understand why.

New Zealand Firsts - Skiing (and experiencing snow) for the first time!
My main objective for going to New Zealand is to do and experience things that I’ve never done before. What better way to than to start it off with ski lessons!
Admittedly, I am not the most athletic person, even possibly the biggest klutz but boy did I have fun! Oh did I mention that I got onto the chairlift, went to one of the peaks and freaked the hell out!?!?!I was an utter embarrassment. I skied/fell half the way down the slopes and had to be “rescued” by the snow automobile. By the way, there were kids about the ages of 5, 6, skiing down like professionals.
Let me find a hole to bury my face now.

New Zealand Firsts - Tasted fudge for the first time (and I was hooked)!
These little blocks of unassuming sweets is the nicest, most diabetic food I’ve ever tasted. Of course I wanted to learn how to make them when I returned but laziness got the better of me. Franchise anyone?

Thought I would start this blog with a photo of my favourite place. I embarked on a South Island Roadtrip (Christchurch - Queenstown - Christchurch) with the love of my life to celebrate my 21st (his 25th!) birthday and it was the best decision I’ve ever made.
South Island is amazingly picturesque and describing the scenery as “postcard-worthy” would be a gross understatement.
Everyone should make a trip to New Zealand once in their lifetime to appreciate what nature as to offer. It made me stop to think of all the wonderful things we (humans) were given, how little we are doing to conserve it and how quickly we are destroying it. We can keep building one tall building after another but these snow-capped mountains are what really is going to take our breaths away.
